General

ChatNexus is a no-code tool for building AI chat assistants that answer from your content. Upload documents, paste text, or link web pages, then embed the assistant on your site or share a chat link. Appointment booking is built in. The service is operated by CHISTY DIGITAL FORGE, a sole trader based in Sydney, NSW, Australia.
No. ChatNexus builds a support assistant for one business, and it answers from the documents you upload — not from the open internet or the AI model's general knowledge. If a question isn't covered by your content, the assistant says so rather than guessing. It also cannot generate or supply images, music, audio or video, and it cannot browse the web. If you want an assistant that writes essays, code or creative content, ChatNexus is not the right tool.
By default, no — that is deliberate. An assistant that invents answers is worse than one that admits a gap, because customers act on what it says. Add the missing content to your knowledge base and the assistant will start answering it. Agent settings do include an option to allow general answers, but we do not recommend it for customer-facing assistants.
Individuals, small businesses, and teams who want AI customer support, an internal Q&A bot, or a specialised chatbot — without writing code. If you have information people should get through chat, ChatNexus is for you.
No. Most people can create an assistant in a few minutes: choose a persona, add your content, and publish. To put it on a website, paste one short code snippet.

Agents & Knowledge Base

Plain text, PDFs, web page URLs, and Google Docs. ChatNexus indexes that content so your assistant can look it up when answering questions.
Think of it like a smart search before the AI replies. Your content is split into small pieces and stored for lookup. When someone asks a question, ChatNexus finds the most relevant pieces and passes them to the AI — so answers are based on your material, not only general training data.

(Under the hood this is called RAG — Retrieval-Augmented Generation.)

Yes. You can set a name, avatar, welcome message, and accent colour, plus a system prompt that defines tone and behaviour. The chat widget on your site picks these up automatically.
Open your agent’s settings, copy the embed snippet, and paste it just before the closing </body> tag on your site. The chat widget appears automatically. You can also share the public chat link.

ChatNexus uses AI from OpenAI, Groq, and xAI (Grok). You pick a model per agent — but your plan controls which ones you can use:

  • Free — standard models only (for example GPT-4o Mini or GPT OSS 20B).
  • Starter — premium models up to GPT-5.4 Mini.
  • Pro / Enterprise — full premium access, including GPT-5.4, GPT-5.5, and GPT-5.6.

Example: on Free you can compare standard models in the AI Model Playground; premium models appear after you upgrade.

Pricing & Billing

Yes. Free includes up to 2 agents, 300 messages and 300 AI credits per month, for 30 days from signup. Free accounts use standard AI models only.

Example: you can build a support bot, add FAQs, and test it on your site within that window. When Free ends (or you need premium models / more capacity), upgrade on the Pricing page.

Paid plans are billed monthly (or yearly if you choose that). The plan fee covers the platform plus your monthly AI chatting allowance. Payments go through Stripe. Cancel anytime from Billing — you keep access until the period ends.

For a plain walkthrough of messages, credits, and extra usage, see the Usage & Billing guide.

Messages = how many times your bot replies this month. Each bot answer uses one message.

Credits = the fuel for each reply. A simple model might use about 3 credits; a powerful one might use 7–30. Your plan includes a monthly credit pool (for example, Pro includes 15,000).

Example: with 3,000 credits on Starter, a 3-credit model ≈ 1,000 answers; a 12-credit model ≈ 250 answers on the same pool.

Both counters are in Settings.

On Free, the bot stops answering until next month or you upgrade.

On paid plans, you choose in Settings:

  • Stop at the included amount — turn off extra AI usage. You only pay your plan fee.
  • Allow a little extra — keep extra usage on and set a monthly spending limit (for example $25 on Starter). Extra replies after your included credits are added to your invoice, but never above that limit. When the limit is reached, the bot stops.

Example: Starter is $29/month with 3,000 credits included. If you allow extra usage with a $25 limit, the most you pay for extra AI that month is $25 on top of the plan fee.

No — not if you use the spending limit. Extra AI never goes past the monthly limit you set in Settings. We also email you around 80% and 100% of included credits, and when you near your spending limit. Prefer to stop at the included amount? Turn extra usage off in Settings.
Yes, anytime from Billing. Upgrades start right away. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
See our Refund Policy. In short: unused time in a billing period is usually not refunded; we review special cases. Extra AI usage already used is usually not refundable except for billing errors or a verified service failure. New paid subscriptions may also qualify for an immediate cancel-and-refund within the first 72 hours (shown in Billing when available).

Privacy & Data

On Render (app hosting) and Neon (database), mainly in the United States. We handle data under Australian privacy law and, where it applies, the GDPR. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
No. We do not use your knowledge base or chat history to train AI models. Your content is only used to answer questions inside your assistants. Third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI and Groq) have their own policies — we link to those in our Privacy Policy.
Yes, from Settings. That permanently removes your profile, agents, knowledge base, and conversations. Some records may be kept for legal or billing reasons, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Yes. Use our standard DPA when you need one for GDPR or similar rules. Start from the DPA page, or continue from agent creation if your use case is flagged for review.

Account & Support

On the login page, click “Forgot password?”, enter your email, and use the reset link we send. Check spam if it does not arrive within a few minutes. (Accounts that only use Google/Facebook/X sign-in usually reset the password with that provider instead.)
Email us at support@chatnexus.cloud. We aim to respond within one business day (AEST).
Do not upload sensitive personal data such as health records, bank passwords, passport details, or privileged legal communications. Do not use ChatNexus for illegal activity, harmful content, or to bypass AI safety rules. Details are in the Terms of Service and High-Risk Use Policy.

Yes — with a ChatNexus account, under Free Tools:

  • AI Model Playground — compare two models side by side.
  • System Prompt Generator — draft a chatbot system prompt.
  • FAQ Generator — turn pasted content into a FAQ.

Playground models match your plan (same rules as agents), and each account gets a daily comparison limit (currently 10 per day). These demos do not use your agent credit pool.
